Custom Woodworking
uniquely crafted in Providence, Rhode Island.
Distinctive pieces proudly created with sustainably sourced materials and the help of underemployed and non-traditional workers.
One-of-a-kind pieces that help make a difference in our community.
About Us
At Edge and End, we create custom woodwork for homes and businesses that is as functional as it is beautiful. Every piece is built entirely by hand, tailored to your vision, and crafted from the highest-quality, locally sourced hardwoods—often repurposed. With natural, food-safe finishes, you can feel confident about what you’re bringing into your space.
Our work doesn’t stop at craftsmanship. Each piece is made in collaboration with vulnerable members of our community through partnerships with New England nonprofits. Together, we provide trade skills, meaningful employment, and supportive opportunities for adults with disabilities and students exploring new passions. Our pilot partner, The Groden Network, is Rhode Island’s leader in serving individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities, and we proudly collaborate with The Met School to introduce students to the trades.
When you choose Edge and End, you’re choosing more than finely made furniture. You’re helping create opportunities, build connections, and make a positive impact in our community—one piece at a time.
Meet the Owner
Edge and End is led by Aaron Guttin, a lifelong woodworker with a passion for both craft and community. Aaron built his first toolbox at age 8 during summer camp, sparking a love for woodworking that would shape his life’s work. Since then, he’s built everything from homes and furniture to canoes and guitars, working professionally as a general contractor, luthier, shipwright, cabinet maker, furniture builder, and designer.
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Aaron finds joy in passing on his skills and working side by side with clients to bring their visions to life. For him, woodworking is more than a trade—it’s a way to create beauty, connection, and purpose.
